Secrets of the Stones Class
Most diamonds are not a girls best friend, since most girls can’t afford them. However, there is an entire group of stones that are both beautiful and affordable! In this class, we will learn all about semi-precious stones such as agate, jasper, opal, obsidian, thunder eggs and petrified wood. Discover how to identify, shape, and polish these stones in a modern lapidary shop equipped with diamond wheels. These finished stones make a one-of-a-kind jewelry and unique display pieces. Enrich your life with a beautiful new hobby.
Warren Rood will teach a Lapidary class this Fall through the Continuing Education department of Walla Walla Community College.
Students will learn beginning and advanced shaping and polishing techniques including free forms, cabbing, and flat polishing. You will be provided with a variety of stones and learn how to gain a glass like polish on many semi precious stones such as jasper, agate, Opal, obsidian, thunder eggs and petrified wood.
